Welcome

/

I am Associate Professor and the Head of School of Liberal Arts (SoLA) at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IITJ). I am a development sociologist by academic training, with a focus on Sustainability, Policy and Governance processes.

My research is interdisciplinary. I have a wide ranging research experience, in working on bilateral and multilateral research projects: funded by GIZ, ACIAR, IUCN, CGIAR, NWO, USAID, DFID, SICI, and Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India, to name a few. I have conducted development research in a diverse array of countries of South Asia (India, Bangladesh), South-East Asia (Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Indonesia) and Africa (Kenya, Cote d’Ivoire). I am also a member of ‘Civil Society Research Collective’ research team at the Wageningen University (Netherlands), Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (India) and Lehigh University (USA). Furthermore, I am an affiliated faculty with the Center for Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development, and Centre for Technology Foresight & Policy at IITJ.

My professional strengths include not limited to, quantitative and qualitative research methods, and scenario analysis, with a seamless response to an array of policy, development and governance roadblocks, and examining pathways from the lens of development studies and economic sociology.

Prior to joining IITJ, I had worked at Wageningen University & Research, Netherlands; World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF), Vietnam/Kenya; International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Sri Lanka; Department of Sociology, Delhi School of Economics, New Delhi; and Kamala Nehru College for Women, University of Delhi, India.
